Kitchen cabinet built and Magic Chef thermostat all over the camper

I'll start with the Magic Chef. I mentioned in my last post that the oven was refurbished except the thermostat copper wire broke. I tried to solder but the nub was too short out of the housing so... I opened it up. Mistake.


Parts flew out, one hit my forehead and no idea where they all came from. I also still couldn't get to where the copper wire ended.

Magic Chef stove back in action, cushions and screens done

This past week in the evenings, the cushions for the couch/bed got completed. Here is a picture of one of them. The others are in plastic bags to keep them clean:

Weekend progress with screens and cushions

I took a break from woodworking so my sinuses survive the pollen and doesn't get a double header with sawdust. We ordered foam for the couch and screens for the windows so got a good start on those.

We ordered the foam from the Foam Factory which we saw posted around the forums. We got a half sheet and a third sheet of HD36 foam. It came in 2 small boxes tightly wrapped. When we opened them, they expanded to 3 times the size of the box.

Couch/Bed and entertainment center progress

Pocket doors, overhead cabinet and couch...

To start, we worked on the overhead cabinet over the kitchen sink and stove. Here is an image of the cabinet as it is being built. The stove vent and control panel are also in this cabinet. We had to work on the vent control that opens the outdoor vent cover so it would open and the filter needed a mount so we made some grooved mounts and a turn catch to hold it up.
