Day 32 - Sat Aug 28 2010
Another foggy, cool morning -- hi's in the 60's again!!!
Rolling by 9:30AM. We stopped in Arcata and walked through the Saturday Farmer's Market. Arcata is quite the interesting university town -- lots of organic foods, and interesting people. We carried on South on US101 to The Avenue of the Giants scenic drive through the Redwoods National Forest. Huge trees, gigantic and very close to the two-lane road. We stopped at the Shrine of the Drive Thru Tree --...

DAY 25 - Sat Aug 21 2010
Very cool morning and overcast, but the sun came out about noon time. Our friend came by in the morning and invited us to dinner at his place. We're bringing the wine.
We took a drive to White Rock along the beautiful beach and promenade. We stopped for lunch at Moby Dick's Fish & Chips. The menu is now part of hubby's collection. We drove on past all the beautiful waterfront homes to Crescent Beach -- another gorgeous beach with awesome homes.

DAY 24 - Fri Aug 20 2010
Cool night and morning and not too sunny.
We said our goodbyes and were away by 10AM, on our way to catch the 12:45 ferry at Duke Point. We stopped for gas in Nanoose, and found the largest gnome we had every seen !!
We continued on, stopping at the Visitor Centre for Nanaimo, located at Beban Park and House -- beautiful old home now used as a community building. The VIE (Vancouver Island Exhibition) was going on at the park, and we spotted an Airstream...

DAY 18 - Sat Aug 14
Warm and sunny in the morning with predicted temps in the 90's today. The family made us a great breakfast -- bacon and eggs on an English muffin -- very good. We took the truck to the carwash for a bath, and stopped by another old friend's place in Qualicum Beach. They have the biggest and most unique picnic table we had every seen !!When we got back to house, an old high school friend and his wife came by for dinner. They left early, and the rest of us headed down to...

DAY 14 - Tue Aug 10
Cool, rainy morning after raining all night. We discovered a small leak in the skydome of the trailer. We had coffee and were away by 8:30AM. Our friends weren't home, they were actually in Vancouver when we stopped to see them. We knew that, but we wanted to see their place anyway. We had quite the ride from their place outside Nelson, heading west. We went up and down the mountains in the rain, 'through the clouds' and finally made it to Grand Forks for gas by 10:30AM....
