Drove up from 29 Palms, only about 60 miles. Did about 8 miles on the old, original Route 66, through the town of Amboy. Hope to see more of it on the way east. The Mojave Preserver...

We drove just 20 miles out of Joshua Tree... to the town of Twentynine Palms. After 25 days of dry camping, we decided it was time to relax, have electricity, re-charge everything, shower, do laundry, shop, get hair-cuts, etc....

Drove a whopping 40 miles up from the Salton Sea... from 226' below sea level... up to 4400'... into Joshua Tree National Park. The climb is so gradual you hardly notice it......
