Resurrecting a '62 Globetrotter

Posted 04-05-2019 at 02:33 PM by goldilocks9

We recently finished the complete renovation of a 1962 Globetrotter. Luckily, it was in solid shape when we bought it in Oregon-- mostly clean shell, straight frame, intact interior. It took 5 months to make it new again. We redid all the systems and reinvented the design to make it distinctively retro-contemporary. Hope you enjoy!

I'll give you the solution right away. Compress the rubber seal in front of it. You'll notice a little metal plate. Stick a screw driver between the door and that little plate and push it back out. Done.

The plate is a guide. It got mashed in because we were trying to close the door with the dead bolt engaged.
