I have direct and a camping buddy of mine has dish....He usually always ends up hooking to my satellite because the angle that Dish's signal comes in at is much shallower than Direct. I have had no problems getting a signal with Direct , but he has had tons of trouble trying to get a Dish signal...If you like to camp by trees, you really ought to consider Direct. You can usually get a signal coming over the tops of the trees. Dish's signal always seems to be right in the middle of the trees....Just my .02
