ThinLite fan missing bulbs

I have a Thin Lite fan/lite fixture on the ceiling in the living area. The 2 bulbs are missing. I contacted Thin Lite and was told the light fixture they made, Model 114 uses a 18" 14 volt bulb. I am discovering these are hard to find.

Does anyone else have one of these and/or actually uses it? It has a crank on it that starts the fan. And it's pretty big, like probably 24" across. (I forgot my tape measure) I suspect the light switch on the back of the dinette seat when you walk in turns on the light fixture.

Got 'em, hate 'em. Not too crazy about Thin Lite in general, but these with their strange tube size, are the worst. I have found tubes by going to a specialty lighting shop here in Little Rock. I have also searched online. Unlike most sizes, I have been unable to find any warm white tubes in this size anywhere.

When I added a Fantastic Vent to the bedroom I replaced with some lights I found on eBay. See Terry's Fulltiming thread http://www.airforums.com/forums/f314...-32395-66.html, posts 923 http://www.airforums.com/forums/718464-post923.html and 927 http://www.airforums.com/forums/721044-post927.html.

These lights use the commonly available 12" 8 watt tube. I have compared the original fixture in the front and middle to the new fixtures in the bedroom, and the smaller 12" tubes actually put out brighter light. The "daylight" (approximately 5000K, in theory) tubes for the original look terrible, colors way too blue and flat compared the the Phillips warm white tubes that I get at Home Depot. I will be replacing all my original fixtures.

I buy my Thin-Lite stuff from Northern Arizona Wind and Solar Store. Don't mind the Thin-lite stuff, it does what I need it to do.

BTW no triple axle here...yet.

I have a Thin Lite that won't come on. It's not the bulbs, as I have taken good bulbs from another fixture and put them in this one. I am getting voltage to the circuit board (the same voltage as on working fixtures). I am just stumped.

By the way, I have triple axles. It's just that one of mine is about 20' in front of the other two and the wheels turn side to side. I guess the front wheels on my motorhome don't technically count as an axle.

It is the bane of Thin Lites, the balast. One just now burned out in my bathroom. I could hear a strange hissing sound and smell smoke. I removed the cover between the tubes and see the arcing as the transformer continued to self destruct. The replacement balasts, like everything related to Thin Lites is very expensive and of extremely poor quality. My experience is that you will always experience very short tube life. The problem is that the space in the bathroom on each side of the mirror in my center bath and the two lights on the wall in the bedroom are made to fit only one particular Thin Lite.

More on this problem as it develops.

OK, while it's not a trailer, I think a 345 gets you a lot of credit.
