New antenae is installed. Thank you Ganglin. Mounting holes line up perfectly with the old ones. It goes plastic ring against the trailer, metal ring on the inside in the wall. The only thing is that the antenae wires are not the same. The old wire uses a sort of bayonnette screw into the end of the antenae wire to make contact. The new antenae uses a conventional rca style plug on the end of the wire. I was able to run the new wire to the radio. If you can't, then it will be necessary to splice the coaxial wire so that you can use the old wire with the new antenae. So my advice to all is,1. that you need access to the backside of the antenae to change it out. Not the easiest thing to do. and second, the new wire, if you cannot get it to the radio, cannot be used. You will have to cut the female end of the new wire off and splice that connector onto the old wire. That way you can connect to the new antenae and not have to run a new wire to the radio. Kind of a bitchy job. Might be easier to just replace the mast onto the old base. George.
