OK, my rims were even with my wheel wells so I needed new axels bad. but let me tell you what a difference they make WOW
My trailer rides totally different....
#1 everything rides at a better height. the suv rides leveler.
#2 I don't get the hard hits on the suv when we hit bumps
#3 It just feels like I have more control when in the bumps while towing, and in general It feels easier to tow. It does sway side to side a little but that is because it now has suspension.. Well, rocks side to side as I go over bumps Not swaying thats the wrong word.
#4 Stuff isn't getting bounced around as much on the inside...
So, If you are considering getting new axles and shocks DO IT. It will make all the difference in the world.
