A select few dealers do "lay over" metal replacements.
Those same few dealers pad estimates and charge insurance companies for things they will never do.
How do I know?
I review estimates for several large insurance companies.
That does not put "all" dealers in the same category.
Most insurance companies are not real smart when it comes to Airstream repairs, but they are not dumb either.
The most interesting part, is that the factory is usually aware of those shops, but does little to nothing about it.
They say they cannot tell a dealer "how to run their business".
Sad indeed, but very true.
