Sorry to hear of all you're going through. A lot of us have been there to one extent or another. So hang in there, but realize there are other Airstreams and it's OK to just say 'enough' and move on...
The water tank is sorta split by a frame cross member. It might look split from the top, but it is continuous underneath.
