If your Classic has disc brakes, my understanding is that they will not work with the built-in brake controller.

BUT my Safari does not have disc brakes, and it likewise was not recognized by my '08 GMC 2500 pickup, until I connected two wires to the fuse box. Once I did that, the built-in controller worked perfectly. It is terrific - it reads actual master cylinder pressure and applies trailer braking in direct proportion (depending upon the gain setting if course) to the amount of pedal pressure you are applying. Perfect.

The GMC dealers I contacted (including the one I bought it from) were supremely unhelpful and ignorant about this situation. I will attempt to locate the information I found about this setup ... if you will PM me with an emial address, I will send it to you if I can locate it.
