[QUOTE=jdnorris;701447]Good day,

I have a 1985 Sovereign and my red WBCCI numbers are torn and basically need to be replaced.

I have replacement numbers numbers for both the front and the back and I know that you use warm soapy water to apply them.

How do you remove old numbers and clean up the area before installing the new replacement numbers?

They must be steamed first to soften them.

If you use just heat, it has a tendency to make them even drier and harder.

Place a wet towel over a number and the use mama's hair drier.

Take your time, don't be in any hurry.

When that number gets hot enough and wet enough, it will peel off.

Best to have a few cold ones near by, in case your patience is challenged.
