David did the prototype. Airstream essentially then copied the design and built the 75 units. If you check photos from David's site vs the actual units, you'll notice that they used his ideas, but no doubt scrimpted here and there.
From what I had seen, some units may have went for almost full MRSP, ie 60K plus. A lot of units though went more for like 50K. A regular CCD which the 75th is based on would be substantially less.
Personally if I had it to do over again (and had a bit of time to wait), I'd have David build you exactly what you want (probably save some $$$'s too).
