Looks to me like a yellow zuchinni. Some people from the south call them yellow squash. It tastes like a green zuchinni. We grow them on our farm. It looks a bit fatter than the ones we grow, but it may be overgrown. Can you cut it open & look at the inside? With zuchinni, you have to pick them to get the plant to continue to put out fruit. If you can, take a picture of the inside & post it. Maybe I can get ahold of my husband to find out for sure.
