Painting an Airstream with the clearcoat is rather tricky.

The aluminum, prior to painting, must be "chemically clean."

Once it's properly cleaned, the paint must be applied within about 2 hours. If not, the clear paint will bead up like mad, since the bare aluminum will oxidize ever so slightly, that fast. That creates a huge problem.
