Hi artstream, I used to work at a small Calif state recreation area just North of Yuma. On the Colorado river. called Picacho state recreation area. It was/ is surounded by BLM land that is open to dry camping. Very nice looking country with lots of wildlife and oddly enough for the desert very good fishing. Tracker.
