The red numbers are the WBCCI membership numbers of the previous owner. The numbers are assigned to the people and the same number can potentially be on multiple trailers if the member has owned multiple trailers.
If you are interested in joining the club, then you can check to see if the old number is available (the PO is not using it any longer) and request to have it reinstated as your membership number.
As far as removing the ghost of the old number - that can be tough. Polishing (or panel replacement
) are about the only ways.
