| Ontario Insurance Question
Hello,
I have a brand new 23' Safari FB SE and I'm looking to explore some insurance options for it. I live close to downtown Toronto, and I don't have the space to store it on my property. I'm keeping it in Milton now, while I search for a safe storage option closer to Toronto.
My present insurance company, Johnson (Unifund) is asking $1100 per year for coverage.
Here is where my confusion comes in. I have inquiries out to my insurance agent, and I'm waiting for clarification... I thought that it wouldn't hurt to get some impartial advice on here as well. :-)
It would seem that my comprehensive coverage on the Airstream is only in play when I am actually towing it. In storage, it appears that I have theft and fire coverage. However, I'm more concerned about vandalism while it's in storage. It's far more likely that some kid with spray paint it, or smash a window than it is that the trailer would be stolen.
Does anyone know more about the various insurance options?
The type of coverage I have, and the cost directly effects where I store it. If it is too costly to get full time comprehensive coverage year round, I am more likely to store it further away from the city where vandalism is less likely.
