Color makes a difference, too. We use the same procedure for our TrailerSaver, which is all black, and we have few issues with it. Of course, the 5th wheel hitch gets less sun exposure, too.
I need to find out what kind of painting process is used on my woodworking tools. Man, I can smack that table saw with a hammer and it won't crack or flake.
