| Should I join? Convince me...
As a full-time employee of one of the best weekly newspapers in the country, I get three weeks of paid vacation per year. Add in a handful of holidays and it's closer to four weeks. We're discouraged from taking vacation in the summer -- Memorial Day to Labor Day -- so most of my trips are spring and fall. I can squeeze in a three-day weekend almost any time.
Until this incarnation of my career ends, long trips are pretty much out. ((As soon as I finish the novel, of course Oprah will love it and my newspaper days will be numbered ...)) I take my 67 Safari on long weekend trips for mountain or road biking, etc. This spring, I hope to take her and DH on a good two-week tour of the Grand Circle area of the southwest.
She's also not completely restored; I haven't invested the money in getting her plumbing functional (and frankly, dumping seems really gross).
I'm 33.5 years old. Yes, Stella is older than me. I don't have problems finding common ground with people of all age groups, but I don't have kids or grandkids to chat about.
Would it be worth it for me to join the WBCCI? It's $70 a year, right? I'm looking forward to making friends on this forum, who seem like a fantastic bunch. What would club membership do for me?
I'd love your help with this important decision.
Thanks!
Jo in Wyo
