...because though she's dirty and ice streaked parked out by the barn, in just a few days time, she'll be our home away from home as we head down south to the Can Opener. It's too frigid here for a bath and shine, so she may be the grimiest Airstream that pulls into TopSail Hill next week, thanks to winter weather and road stuff, but she keeps us happy, warm or cool, as needed. We really do love our Airstream, Thursdays and all other days as well. Happy New Year, friends! ~G

It was Thursday (yesterday) and I love my Airstream because she just took us to Ft. Wilderness at Walt Disney World this past weekend and will take us to the Can Opener Rally next weekend.

It may have been warm enough to bath ours hear within the past two weeks, but we have had the worst drought in history so I'm sure yours won't be the dirtiest. Happy New Years everyone!

It's Friday, but...I bought my "new" 2000 Safari 25' last Wednesday, took it out for 4 days starting Saturday and it performed flawlessly. I'm (still) stoked!

Maybe my 2008 calendar is wrong. It shows today as Wednesday. It must be Thursday somewhere and maybe that's where 2air is posting from.

It's almost Thursday and...
We just got back from an 1,100 mile escape.
We first went to Slab City. We then wandered over to the FCU's New Years party near Tucson and from there we came back to Ca. to spend some time boondocking in the high desert. It was cold everywhere we went but the furnace worked great. We also got caught in a sandstorm on I 10. Lots of fun and adventure which made it a great trip.

Hi, Goin. I hope your vehicles didn't get sand blast damage.

Goin, this sounds like it was a neat trip. Bummer on the sand storm - hard on windshields and paint (and aluminum). Sure do wish we could have done the trip to the 4CU camp out.
We actually had snow for a couple of days over the holidays but nothing a day of good old liquid snow shovel didn't cure. Hey, we do live beside rain forests and they are living up to their name. So no sand storms for us, just rain, snow, sleet, and now and then the sun.
So it is Thursday and I'm going over to have tea with our buddies who have acquired an early Flying Cloud over the Christmas holidays and congratulate them , and help them plan out the restoration. I guess my aluminumitis is infectious .

We just got back from a 9 month trip around lower 48 to our villa in an Airstream Community. We have the best of both worlds!!!!! This was our first extended trip and upon ariving home , we found we could remove alot of stuff we didn't need. But we also have a 28 footer without a pantry, so we already turned the hall closet into a pantry. Still love our airstream !!!!!

...because I like the people who own them!
Sounds a strange thing to say - but true! I was kept awake half the night by my pump cycling - a sure sign of a leak! On checking this morning I found water spurting from the water heater drain valve. When it didn't improve by tightening I decided to remove it and use some sealent - only to have it sheer off and have six gallons of water spilling onto the floor!
I sourced my second AS from a family in Totowa NJ. It was part of the estate of a life member, #13194 Albert W Vanderberg. More than once I've been grateful for his preparedness and thoughtfulness from beyond the grave. His spares box is a treasure chest and, sure enough, looking in the box I find a spare plug! The water's hot and all is back on track!
Thanks Albert!!

It's Thursday and I remembered to post on the right day this week! I like my Airstream because she will take us to the Florida Can Opener Rally this weekend and reunite us with some old friends and some new ones.
It was 16F this morning in Atlanta and yesterday's high of 30F made it the coldest day since January 1997 (before my oldest was born!). The temps are supposed to rebound in the south before the weekend so it may be cool in the Panhandle, but it will be a nice change from what we are having this week.
Looking forward to making some Changes in Latitudes in our "Changes in Latitudes" this weekend.

Sounds like Albert was a good Airstreamer...and a good Boy Scout, too. " Always be prepared".

Fortunately there was no sand damage. We really felt sorry for the three guys on motorcycles in front of us. We knew those guys were suffering.
Barry, You were truly missed. Did you get a hangover from all the toasts in your honor? I'm crossing my fingers you'll be able to get to Deadhorse 2.

Goin - I had a twinge of a long distance hang over. We certainly appreciate the sacrifice that was made on our part as others woke with a lot more than a twinge of New Years welcoming. You guys are real troopers.
I'm still trying to find out what traveling I'm allowed to do this spring and summer. Then of course I have to convince the real love of my life that she's up to the distance driving and promise that this time for sure no matter what I'll keep my coaching to myself . I'll probably even have to promise to not jump out of the truck and kiss the ground at every stop. Darn, I'll miss that.
I hope to know what I can expect by mid January with regard to travel this year. Egad, it's already the 3rd.
Ride on....
Barry

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because my wife and I like to travel and camp. We have, until now, traveled in a Previa Van and slept in tents from minus 17 degrees in Wyoming to 110 degrees in South Texas. Tent camping has, however, after 20 years, lost some of its appeal, particulary for espousa. I will still tent camp, I like waking up to the sounds, smells of early moring and the feel of having a micro layer between me and outside. However, I am not too crazy about the loading and unloading of everthing needed to tent camp. I like my Airstream because it stays loaded and ready to go with most all things but the perishables.
