I'll tell you an item we always carry with us during winter months. A medium sized clay pot and emergency candles. This past winter we used them for the first time when we lost all power in our home for three days. Invert the clay pot over lighted candles - the hole in the bottom allows the smoke to dissapate while the candles warm up the clay pot which gives off warmth to fend off the cold!! It was our ONLY source of heat for three days and kept us from freezing - until the elec. came back on. We'd read that it worked and we discovered that it did!! We carry them in the TV and the trailer as well. Life saving in an emergency!!
