Sounds like a wonderful trip! Gulf Beach Campground, mentioned in a previous post, was purchased by Sarasota County and is now called Turtle Beach Campground. You can find more information at

This little park is on the southern tip of Siesta Key Island, just outside of Sarasota. Campsites are close together but the location is beautuful. You will find yourself looking at the Gulf morning, noon and night.
