Abe,
The bunk is above the couch. It folds at the middle so that it looked nice during the day. The mattress also folded at the middle (it was 6" foam). The bunk was designed to hold 175#s so it was kids only, but it was really well designed. The ladder that you see in the original blue interior pic locked into a set of holes in a bracket for added support of the front edge as well as holding the ladder in place. We removed the bracket as along with the the mattress, but kept both should we ever sell and the new owner want to use it again as a bunk. BTW, the couch also makes into a bed (78X48).

Thanks for the comments on our makeover. Several have commented that we should go into the A/S makeover business. We have given it some thought, but no decision.
