Sounds like there are now 7 people that found the jack to be junk. I don't know what's involved with replacing the seal on one of those or if it would even be worth it. If it were me I would chalk it up to lesson learned and buy a new one. I have used Craftsman products for years and have had some problems, but most have been able to be resolved. I am wary of Sears (now K-Mart) products now as they are less likely to stand by their product. Even lifetime warranted defective Craftsman tools now need a receipt to be returned.
