Bedside table

We have a 2003 Classic 25. The queen sized bed has a bedside table on one side of the bed (not mine!), but nothing on the other side. It would be nice to have somewhere to leave a book or to place a clock or reading light.

There is only about 9 inches of room on that side, so a traditional cabinet would not work. In addition, the curve of the wall near to top of the bed is a complicating factor.

See the attached photos for my solution. This looks like a rather poor model of the Starship Enterprise (Pinewood Derby version!), but it seems to work pretty well. The long piece fits under the mattress and supports the table. The curve of the wall was copied using some heavy paper and a scissors to come up with a pattern. I used Lowe's red oak and the rub on polyurethane finish. Since it is not permanently attached, it can be removed if, for example, one wanted to move the mattress over a bit.
