I'm not sure how of the layout in your AS, but in our Bambi I installed a shelf at each of the places that the upper cabinets come to a corner. There is a 12"-14" space where there are no doors and where no doors open into. I also installed a book shelf along the edge of the topper we use with our Avalanche when we travel. In total these give us about 4' of bookshelf. We also carry a box of books and swap them out for those on the shelves when we've finished reading the shelved books.
Also, not to get too far off track, but my wife and I like to visit used bookstores as we travel across the country. We subscribed to the following, http://www.bookhunterpress.com/index.cgi/new.html and found the software useful for finding out-of-the-way bookstore. Not all the bookstores it lists are still in business so we try to call first, but many are and many of those we would never find without the software and a good GPS. Its kind of like treasure hunting. Just thought you might be interested.
