I see the error now. My bad, I should have cross checked the picture to the print. I will get it revised drawing with the over all length (minus pin) set to 2.750 inches. Should be interesting to see what comes of this little mistake.

OK lets try this again.

The pin will be aluminum. Press fit then welded at the bottom (by where you will rivet it in place)

My Airstream is finally home from storage and parked in the driveway... now if I can just find the time to finish up all those projects that didn't get finished last season.

I had to save my 500th post for something special. Well I can't get much better that this. The elusive, unobtainable original aluminum framed sling bunks are now mine!

They've set my wallet back considerably, but I wanted the originals. Now to find the time to get one of them installed, and hope that my window isn't in the way of where the wall bracket will need to be mounted

JB, I've gotta ask, how long did you have to look to find the Ram in the same color as your old truck? Around here, it's not that common a color, although with the snow blind tourists driving it is certainly more visible.

Anyone with these bunks know what the tan metal plates are? I haven't seen those in any of the pics I've seen of the original bunks.

They go over the part that folds in half, so they don't accidentally open.

Shh! that's top secret. (although Shari Insideout might recognize the color) I got it the same place as the GMC so it wasn't too hard. It's pretty uncommon here also, our neighbors were really wondering when we showed up with a second orange truck!

We only got rid of the GMC because the Dodge has the quad doors, while the GMC only had 2. Much easier getting the kid's in and out of.

We (especially my wife) really like the color - no-one else has it!

Do they attach to the wall and help keep it in place and closed when they are folded up?

GP II has been getting retrofitted to equip it for the towing/camping season. I’ve got my new class V hitch installed. (That means I can tow 10,000lbs

).

Received the OEM replacement Mopar tow mirrors and have already installed them - no picture yet, but they're the same as shown here. (not my truck but great details/help in installing mine.)

Bought the Mopar tow wiring harness also from the same dealer, haven't got that installed yet. Looks to be a pretty straightforward replacement. And despite what I've read the instructions say my truck (99') doesn't need the heavy duty flasher. Real time testing will show for sure.

JB, they rivet to the wall, and the folded part of the bunk slides down into it behind the cushion seen in the photo:

Hey - I noticed on your wish list (What do you most want for your AS that is not available?) you want/need parts for your Eaz-Awn. What parts are you needing? As you know my mounting brackets went T.U. The replacements another member was going to fabricate never made it off the drawing board. Mine is complete with the exception of the mounts, so if I've got it and you need it...let me know.

JB, I need the roller ends from the tube. If you can't get the ends out without damaging them, I can probably use the roller, with the material if it is still in good shape. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Thanks.

We have a 64 Overlander too, and it has the same layout as yours. The main difference I found in looking at your photo gallery is that ours has the quilted ceiling in the bedroom, or maybe yours has it but I couldn't tell from the photos.
We've been through a lot of the same repairs as you have. Our original fridge worked for a couple of years, but has since died and we replaced it with a Dometic from a mid70s Argosy.
Our furnace was a pile of rust too. What did you end up doing with the space? I added an access panel and used it for storage, but now I'm thinking of moving the batteries up there. I installed two 6 volt golf cart batteries batteries in a box under the bed, right at the rear of the bed and vented through the access panel, but I find they're too hard to get to for checking water level. I think I'll move them to the space where the furnace used to be. That will mean moving the inverter as well and changing the wiring, but on the plus side they won't be as far from the tow vehicle for charging while driving.
We took out the front gaucho and replaced it with a dinette. The gaucho just didn't suit travelling with 4 kids. Photos of the dinette are here:

Are you still using the original axles? Ours were okay when we bought it, but after about 20000 miles of use we found that we needed to replace them.
A lot of our plumbing had been frozen as well. I still haven't got it all fixed in the bathroom. That's one of the projects I'm hoping to get to this summer. I also want to replace the counter tops, and we haven't even started on polishing yet.
