My point exactly - first - I did ask these questions to the "participants" here in the forums (without a mailing list I cannot contact the others) - second - "these are not inexperienced people" (I believe you mean the people here on the forums where this discussion is being held and in some ways promoted) is exactly my point. I am certain that the individuals who are trying their best to make this happen and are promoting this caravan have lots of caravan sponsoring experience. For them this is another "walk in the park". It is not them I am worried about but the rest who will join up for the adventure and follow these guys. I have read some of their newsletters with great interest, I have read some other information online, I have my hands on the book about the first trip and the National Geographic article, and have plotted the old route to look at the modern possibility of taking a trip through there (not possible). I see no reason to believe that they have nothing but the best interest of the participants in mind - but the world does not rotate on good intentions.
Maybe - being prepared for the last caravan and its hardships is not good enough for the next caravan and the current world hostilities we live in today.
EDIT - I made a bad typo at first and is now corrected - I apologize - I was not attempting to change your words. MIKE
