Tin Sista -- Are we living a duplicate life, or what? Last week when we got the big snow our mailbox post got cracked in half by the snowplow. That's the second time it was hit this winter. So we've got a new mailbox to put up too. But we have to wait for the the rest of the snow to melt and the ground to thaw a little.
We're in the spring stages of freeze at night, melt by day now. Can't wait to see some flowers poking out of the ground.
My suggestion for the mailbox climber? Clematis is a classic. The trick is to get shade over the base of the plant, and let it grow up into the full sun. It might take a year or two to take off. In the meantime, you could throw some morning glory seeds in the ground with it and they would be pretty this year.

p.s. I'll have a bit of that tea, with a little honey, and a couple ibuprofen on the side. I'm sufferin' from a mighty awful bronchial cold today!
