It looks like we have site B-1, June got the reservation 1st thing this morning. We need to see the other half after attending the Sarasota event. We'll be staying from the 19th to the 22nd, and then going to Murphy N.C. to visit family. We're bringing a Lab, 2 cats, 2 Kayaks, and a good sense of humor. So God willin and the creek don"t rise, we'll see ya on the 19th.

During dinner/entertainment on Saturday night, we will run a continuous playing slideshow of Airstream photos on the Drive-In (I'll bring our 10' x 20' screen) - from the days events at Hiawassee, the last Hiawassee rally and Topsail.
I also have a CD with photos from the Can Opener Rally I can bring for you to download into your laptop to be part of the slideshow.

Heading down the stretch…

8 weeks out is no time to lose our steam.
That's right, the next few weeks need to be extreme!
Posting rate seems a little flat, hey! do we need a pump?
This isn’t baseball & we don’t need no stinkin’ slump.

We need over active brains, juiced upped frontal lobes
You can even do this in your old bathrobes
That’s right! stay home – I’ll even write your excuse.

(It would help me if a few of you were named Daryl)

Yeah, you know what I mean,
our Rally thread pushed down to the bottom of the barrel.
It’s depressing, logging on and not showing in the portal.
Oh how it disappoints & makes us look mortal.

8 weeks out, who cares what rhymes?
but ‘ya gotta do more than rely on a tired grape vine.
The rally gods are watching, grading our behavior;
this can still be fun, just tweak up the labor.

We need a little injection, even a touch of leven
Remember what was said in post sixty-seven?

Trust me, there’s lots of ground to cover.
You should stay up late and work on the mundane,
and you don’t even need permission from ya’ mother.

have fun,
em.

Man, only 8 more weeks? I have got to work faster on that danged old Airstream. I'm begining to think we aren't gonna have it ready. At least the weather has finally warmed up and I am able to get a few things done most days now. Wish me luck!

We can send lots of encouragement...

If it rolls is right!
Tow it to North GA. and use it like a really expensive tent.

If you need an extra set of hands just send me a pm.
I'm just down the street (I-75 that is).

Name tag Contest

I am going to supply name tag holders for the rally but it's up to you to make your own name tags. The holders will be similar to the ones at Topsail and will hold a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 name tag. There will be judges appointed and two winners selected. The prizes will be the electronic badge hats I previously committed to donnate. All tags must have the Springstream logo on the right hand side.

From Missouri to Georgia. Now that would be a ride!

I don't know about meeting members, but missing out on the BBQ - that would be a shame

Once again, we have had lots of attendees in the past who had " rollers", nothing much inside, but a sleeping bag and air mattress. Still its cool to see them in progress.
7 weeks and counting......
meanwhile we are off to Texas ( by air, not airstream) for our son's Air Force Graduation.

Ooooh...have fun in San Antonio and Lackland AFB. I was in San Antonio a few weeks ago. As for the progress at that time, it will not even be a tin tent on rollers. DUnno if I could go that long without heat, a mattress or any other creature comforts.

Nametags

I'll go ahead and say it up front - I am artistically challenged. I've overcome my initial fear of creating a resonable looking badge to adorn at Springstream. I psyched myself up and took the plunge - so here's my first take on nametags. They look okay but they need a little something. Not enough sparkle... they need some pizazz! I'll keep working on them - I have nearly 8 weeks to perfect the layout.
