Use, WHAT ELSE, a screwdriver (flat blade) and rubber mallet, tap softly at the edge where the cap meets the brake drum in a circle around the cap. It will pop off - not much to hold it but light friction. It only goes in about 3/8ths of an inch. Replacements are cheep at any auto supply.
