Car Battery Low Disconnect in '68
Hello all. I have a dilemma with my ’68 Sovereign that I truly hope someone can help me solve (or point me to a thread that I can figure it out from). Anyhow, I have gone camping now two with my Sovereign and it has been a blast, always of course finding little things that need addressing. But one issue I cannot figure out is that at the end of each trip I hook up my tow vehicle and then notice on my control panel in the AS that the Battery Low Disconnect is on (so my vehicle is not charging the batteries. This has caused me to already once have to take my battery out of the AS and charge it at a local gas station because the AS would not power off my tow vehicle (thus not allowing my electric hitch to work). Anyhow, my dilemma is what is causing this? I have replaced the old univolt with a new WFCO unit and put in a bank of two deep cell batteries, but still after the last three day boondocks trip again the Battery Low Disconnect was on when hooking up to go home (albeit I had plenty of power in the AS batteries to power the hitch this time).
Also, one last question around the control panel in the ’68 models; it appears my batteries are always registering one the middle of the battery condition and never in the high “green” level (even though they are fully charged). Is there a way to adjust this dial, or get it to ready accurately? Also, my amp meter (the one below the battery condition indicator) dose not work, so I was hoping someone with experience around the control panel for this year can give me some pointers.
Thanks
