For the last couple of years I've spent an average of 3 nights a week in Wal-Mart lots in NC/SC. On the list Myrtle Beach is listed as well as N. MB and Surfside, where I've stayed multiple times.
Some places are quite noisy with kids running cars until the wee hours, vacum trucks running about at 3-4 am. But the price is still $0.0 unless you factor in your uncontrolable urge to fuel the machine. And I do use the Murphy gas at three cent discount when available.
Like everything you pay for, or not, you get what it's worth.
