Here's a photo I took while lounging under my Zip Dee in the Sand Dunes National Monument last week. It was pretty windy, with gusts to 25 mph, and if you'll look carefully at the photo, you'll see that I used a rope tie-down to stabilize the awning. The old fashion, vintage, style has had that all along! So, I don't know that the vintage awnings are at any great disadvantage compared to the expense of a 'modern' one, eh?
