cost of replacing all tambour doors

Greetings Pearl!

Welcome to the Forums!

According to my experience, Dallas is correct in that the white laminate that was used in many of the upper cabinet as well as "eye-level" cabinets is no longer available. TapeEase has some laminates that are close but not exact. On my Minuet, the upper lockers all needed new Tambour as the white laminate had warped to the point the successful repair was unlikely.

What I found to be a very workable compromise was to utilize the birch veneer with a very lightly pickled finish. The resulting color was a good match for the light taupe thread that runs through the vinyl wall coverings (at least those used by Argosys during the time period). The cost for the tambour materials for my 20' coach were just a little more than $200 including shipping for the materials.

If the tracks for the tambour are missing, be prepared for some "creative" re-construction. The tambour tracks as used in the upper cabinets are evidently unique to Airstream due to their curvature - - they can be found but it does take some time. TapeEase has the parts to recreate something that will work, but it takes some experimenting.

Good luck with your decision!

Kevin
